A major road closure is now underway in Plymouth Township and could affect local traffic for months.

Belvoir Road is closed between Johnson Road and just north of Plymouth Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday, while utility construction is completed. The closure began this week and is expected to continue through April 30, 2027.

Drivers are being detoured along Ridge Pike, Fairfield Road/Fornance Street and New Hope Street. Residents have raised concerns about added congestion, particularly near nearby elementary and middle schools.

Although the road reopens each afternoon, drivers traveling through Plymouth Township should expect possible delays and allow extra time when using nearby routes.
