GIANT Supermarket Opens in Jenkintown, Boosting Local Economy

Jenkintown residents have a new reason to celebrate with the grand opening of the GIANT Supermarket at 93 York Road.

The 50,000-square-foot store officially opened its doors on April 4, 2025, marking the first GIANT location in the borough.

Operating daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., the supermarket has created over 100 full- and part-time positions, significantly contributing to the local economy.

Shoppers can expect a modern layout featuring wide aisles and a bright atmosphere.

The store offers a vast selection of fresh produce, meat and seafood, bakery items, prepared foods, and pantry staples.

Additionally, it includes organic and specialty options, grab-and-go meals for busy days, and online ordering with pickup or delivery services for added convenience.

Beyond groceries, the opening signifies a boost for the local economy.

The store's establishment is part of a broader effort to revitalize this busy corridor of Jenkintown.

GIANT is known for community involvement, and the company has already demonstrated its commitment by donating $10,000 to six local organizations, including the Jenkintown Police Department, Jenkintown Fire Department, and the School District of Jenkintown.

Located just steps from shops, restaurants, and public transit, the new GIANT is expected to become a go-to stop for residents and commuters alike.

Whether you're grabbing dinner ingredients or running in for a quick pickup, Jenkintown's newest supermarket is officially open—and already making an impact.
