On Friday afternoon, a distressing incident unfolded in Horsham Township, Montgomery County, when a woman was stabbed by her son.
The Horsham Township Police Department responded to a call at approximately 1:35 p.m. on the 300 block of Summer Avenue, located behind the Acme supermarket near Woodlawn and Cottage avenues.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim, a 69-year-old woman, who had sustained injuries from the attack.
She was promptly transported to Abington Memorial Hospital by the Horsham Fire Company ambulance for medical treatment.
The alleged assailant, her 35-year-old son, was taken into custody at the scene.
The extent of the mother's injuries has not been disclosed, and the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the motive behind the stabbing.
