Trivia Question❓

Which famous musician and actor is a native of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, specifically born in Norristown in 1946?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

NORRISTOWN — The Patrician Society marks its 45th anniversary as a vital support system for Montgomery County families, tracing its roots to a priest’s simple act of service in 1981.

In 2023, over 2,700 households received assistance with groceries, utility bills, heating, medical expenses, and job readiness programs.

Operating with a dedicated 5-person staff and 100 volunteer hours a week, the organization remains a community backbone.

This milestone year brings local support from the Michael Petrone Foundation, which will host a fundraiser on April 12 at Screwballs in King of Prussia, emceed by Fox 29’s Bob Kelly.

Attendees are encouraged to donate new children’s pajamas for St. Christopher’s Hospital, helping neighbors while strengthening business–community connections.

The Patrician Society’s enduring impact highlights the value of collaboration between local nonprofits and businesses, driving both trust and loyalty in the region.

The Montgomery County PA and Friends Indivisible chapter coordinated rallies in Norristown, Phoenixville, Pennsburg, and Audubon, uniting protestors on topics like immigration enforcement and environmental policy.

Organizers estimated hundreds in Pottstown alone, with crowds flocking to Norristown’s courthouse square.

Downtown businesses reported boosted foot traffic and increased sales, while local cafés saw a spike in activity before and after the rally.

Reminders of Him is making waves once more. This book recently had a movie adaptation premiere, so it felt like the perfect time to give it a shoutout since it’s one of my all-time favorites. You’ll feel all the feels with this one, and the ending was so beautifully done that it had me in tears.

It’s honestly hard to put into words how amazing this book is—there’s so much depth and so many meaningful themes explored throughout the story. It’s also a great pick for getting someone out of a reading slump.

Bonus: the movie adaptation actually did the story justice, which made me love it even more.

Montgomery County faces the threat of major disruptions as 1,500 PECO workers consider striking, possibly as early as today.

If the strike occurs, businesses may experience significant power and gas outages, stalled customer service, and critical delays.

Local shops, restaurants, and offices could see downtime, lost sales, and equipment failures—especially those relying on refrigeration or steady traffic.

The dispute centers on union demands for improved retirement benefits, while PECO maintains its compensation is already competitive.

Without a resolution, disruptions could extend for days or longer, hitting both businesses and residents hard.

Owners are urged to review their backup plans, prepare for interruptions, and communicate with their teams to minimize losses.

Proactive planning is key to weathering the possible PECO strike and safeguarding local business operations.
