A fierce winter storm struck Montgomery County on Sunday, January 25, 2026, covering the area in deep snow and causing hazardous travel conditions.
Snowfall varied widely — Pottstown saw about 9.5 inches, while Norristown reported 8.7 inches and Lower Pottsgrove Township measured 8.5 inches.
Glenside and Ambler each recorded 7 inches, and Eagleville received around 6.7 inches.

Nathan Blose, an inmate at SCI Phoenix in Skippack Township, is at the center of a declared mistrial in a first-degree murder case involving the 2024 death of his cellmate Shaun Harden.
The trial was abruptly stopped after undisclosed information from the coroner’s office surfaced, prompting the judge to emphasize full evidence disclosure for a fair process.
Prosecutors cited surveillance showing Blose and Harden alone in their cell the night of October 31, and Harden was found dead the following morning, partially covered by a sheet.
An autopsy revealed severe injuries consistent with a beating, but the defense raised concerns about missed guard checks and Harden’s prior internal injuries from another assault weeks earlier.
The case, now rescheduled for April, highlights the challenges of upholding justice and due process within the prison system. Read More... |
