In what year was Montgomery County, PA officially established and named after Revolutionary War hero General Richard Montgomery?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Share Food Program has opened a state-of-the-art 27,000-square-foot warehouse at 1111 N. Broad Street, Lansdale, set to transform food assistance efforts in Montgomery County.

This new facility will streamline distribution of emergency food boxes, school lunches, and rescued meals, strengthening support for about 55,000 local families, children, and seniors.

State Representative Steve Malagari and other legislative leaders joined regional officials at the ribbon cutting, reflecting widespread commitment to ending hunger in the community.

The warehouse, the first dedicated Share Food hub in Montgomery County, signals a major step forward for the nonprofit’s impact.

A recent $500,000 federal grant will allow essential renovations, including a safer roof and upgraded sprinkler system, ensuring top-tier food storage.

Local residents are encouraged to support by volunteering or joining food drives as Share Food Program’s reach expands.

Montgomery County has unveiled a fresh logo and a modernized seal, representing the first major branding update in more than 25 years.

The project was spearheaded by Iris Creative, a local agency chosen after a national search concluded in June 2024.

Officials say the new look highlights what makes the county a top destination for living, working, and raising families.

Community input and research shaped the designs, ensuring they reflect shared values across diverse communities.

The logo features the historic courthouse at its heart, surrounded by city buildings, homes, trees, fields, a river, and a winding path. Cobalt, frost, and marigold colors evoke trust and dependability.

The seal keeps its historic elements but is streamlined for modern clarity and accessibility.

Residents will begin seeing these updates on official materials and county communications through 2026.
