Upper Hanover Township residents are celebrating a major development after plans for a controversial data center along Gravel Pike were officially withdrawn!

The proposed 150,000 square foot facility would have been built on approximately 37 acres, less than 300 feet from several homes. The project sparked strong opposition from neighbors concerned about its impact on their community.

At the October 13 Board of Supervisors meeting, developer representative Bob Downs announced that the data center plans were withdrawn, acknowledging the overwhelming public response.

Instead, developers presented a proposal for 60 single-family homes. However, township supervisors expressed concerns about the density and recommended limiting construction to 30 homes.

Several residents thanked the developer for removing the data center from consideration.

While the property’s future remains undecided, the announcement marks a significant turning point for Upper Hanover residents and demonstrates how community involvement can influence local development.

Last week, we focused on staying hydrated. This week, we’re building on that healthy habit by adding a little more movement to our day!

Did you know that even short bursts of physical activity can make a difference? You don’t need an expensive gym membership or a complicated workout routine to get moving.

Something as simple as walking for 10 minutes after lunch, dancing to your favorite song, or taking the stairs can help boost your energy, improve your mood, and support your overall health.

And here’s the best part: You don’t have to do it all at once!

Try adding a few minutes of movement throughout your day. Take a quick walk during a work break, stretch while watching television, or turn household chores into an opportunity to get moving.

Over time, those little moments can add up to healthier habits.

This Week’s Dig In Challenge: Add 10 minutes of extra movement to your daily routine. Choose something you enjoy and make it fun!
