Sometimes growth begins with a little pruning
As I looked at my grape vine this week, I noticed something interesting. For healthy growth, grape vines need to be pruned. At first, it feels strange—cutting back something that’s growing. But gardeners know something important: pruning isn’t punishment. It’s preparation. Without pruning, the vine can become overcrowded, tangled, and weak. By trimming away what no longer serves the plant, energy is redirected to stronger growth, healthier fruit, and a better harvest ahead.
Funny enough, life works that way too. Sometimes thriving means letting go of things that are weighing us down. Maybe it’s clutter around the house, overcommitting ourselves, unhealthy habits, worry, or even relationships that drain more than they grow.
We often think growth means adding more. But sometimes growth starts with subtraction. A little pruning can create room for something better to flourish.
So this week, ask yourself: What might need a little pruning in your life to make room for healthier growth? Dig In — because sometimes the best harvest comes after we learn what to trim back. |
