Trivia Question❓What famous political figure is buried in Montgomery County, PA at the Valley Forge National Historical Park? Answer at the bottom of the newsletter |
Plans for new residential housing near the Conshohocken SEPTA station are moving forward, with SEPTA now prioritizing a proposal for roughly 300 apartments.
This site was once slated for a $48 million parking garage, but growing interest in walkable, transit-friendly communities has prompted a shift.
SEPTA is collaborating with Philadelphia’s Alterra Property Group to repurpose underused land, ensuring that Regional Rail commuters still have convenient parking.
Alterra would lease the property long-term, giving SEPTA a dependable revenue stream while weaving commuter parking into the project design.
The proposal, however, faces hurdles—current Conshohocken zoning bans multifamily housing on the site, requiring approvals or zoning changes for the project to advance.
Local and county leaders believe the project supports goals of increasing housing supply and building denser, transit-accessible neighborhoods, reflecting a wider regional shift in development strategy. Read More... |

Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity announced her office cannot authorize payment for recent security upgrades at Governor Josh Shapiro’s private residence without explicit legislative approval.
Although the Pennsylvania State Police supported the security enhancements, Garrity described the funding request as an unusual use of taxpayer money and stated that current law does not permit the expenditure.
She noted that the upgrades could still receive approval if lawmakers address the cost in the upcoming state budget.
The situation has fueled debate in Harrisburg, with local leaders and residents questioning whether taxpayer funds should be spent on a governor’s personal home instead of official state properties.
The discussion highlights heightened scrutiny over government spending transparency and accountability in Pennsylvania. Read More... |

Pennsylvania residents are being targeted by a convincing new scam, where fake messages claim unpaid tolls, traffic violations, or legal trouble.
Texts and emails appear to come from the state court system, showing official seals and “Final Notice – Court Enforcement Action” warnings.
Victims are pressured to scan QR codes or click suspicious links to fix the problem fast.
These schemes fuel panic with urgent language, deadlines, and threats of license suspension—but they are completely fraudulent.
Remember: Unexpected texts or emails demanding payment, links asking for personal info, or messages with unusual wording are all signs of a scam.
If you receive one, do not click any links or send money.
Always verify through official PennDOT or court channels, and use trusted phone numbers if you have concerns.
Stay cautious—real legal communication won’t arrive by random text or email. Read More... |
